Rhinoplasty
When it comes to the face, small changes can make a noticeable difference. The nose, as the center point of the face, is no exception and is often an area of concern for many patients. A surgical rhinoplasty or “nose job” can be performed to permanently correct irregularities in the contour and shape to help balance the overall facial aesthetic.
Most aspects of the nose can be corrected but the steps involved will vary from patient to patient. Widening/narrowing of the nasal dorsum, hump reduction, nasal tip refinement and correction of a deviated septum are some of the more common nasal issues addressed at rhinoplasty.

Additional Information
-
To maximize visualization of the nasal structures, an open rhinoplasty is usually performed where an incision is placed on the inside of each nostril and the intervening skin of the nose just above the lip (columella). These incisions all tend to heal very well with an imperceptible scar.
-
To address certain nasal issues/deformities, cartilage is used to provide additional shape and support for the nose to improve both the aesthetic and functional outcomes. This cartilage can be taken from the septum within the nose, the ear or even a rib. This will be discussed with you depending on your needs.
-
Immediately after surgery, it is likely that you will have an external and/or internal splint used to help shape your nose. This splint is usually removed 3-5 days after surgery. You will likely have swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes which will usually resolve over the ensuing days-week however the final contour of the nose can take up to a full year to fully be realized.
-
The cost of a rhinoplasty ranges from $5000 - $6000, not including OR, implant or anesthesia fees.
