Buccal Fat Removal

The incisions are placed within the cheek inside the mouth so there is no visible scar. The sutures that are placed are all dissolvable.

Buccal fat pad excision is done in the office under local anesthetic and usually takes about 30 minutes to complete.

There may be some soreness and swelling after the procedure. You will be asked to stick with softer foods for the first week after surgery and to use a mouth wash twice a day to allow the incisions to heal.
