LabiAplasty

Vaginal rejuvenation is a broad term that is used for many different elective vaginal procedures but is often associated with intra-vaginal therapies such as laser or radio-frequency tightening to name a few. However, a labiaplasty requires no such devices and is a surgical procedure designed to decrease the size of the labia minor (inner tissues of the vulva) so that it is even with the labia majora (outer tissues of the vulva).

There are many reasons in which a women may have an enlarged labia minora including childbirth, congenital (born that way), aging, and/or sexual activity. This can also cause physical discomfort in patients when they exercise or have sex and can lead to increased urinary tract infections and hygiene issues.

Additional Information

  • There are two main techniques used for labiaplasty: the trim and the wedge. Both of these techniques place the incisions within the internal mucosal area of the labia minora to reduce and contour the labia thereby improving the shape and appearance and giving the vagina a natural look.

  • Labiaplasty can be done with either general or local anesthesia and is often combined with other surgical procedures to minimize overall recovery time.

  • Most patients will experience soreness and swelling/bruising in the area for several days after the procedure. You’ll be given an antibiotic to help prevent infection and will be asked to avoid strenuous activities for several weeks and sexual intercourse for 1 month to allow the area to heal.

  • The cost of a labiaplasty ranges from $3000 - $4000, not including OR, implant or anesthesia fees.
